MIKE LAING

DRUMMER//SONG-WRITER//TEACHER

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Mike started hitting the skins at ten years old. After years of private drum lessons with the legendary Lorne Kelly, he has strict technical training in funk, jazz, rock and blues. This skillset paired with his commitment to the instrument garnished him awards and accolades as a teenager. His experience as a live and session drummer has had him playing with acts such as: Jeremie Albino, The Balconies, Ben Caplan, The Love Machine, ROLEMODEL, Bond Girls and many more. Mike has a well-trained ear and keen sense of song writing from over two decades of music production, performance and composition. 

Currently based in Toronto, he works as a session and live drummer, and also as a private teacher. Mike hopes to pass his skills to a new generation of eager musicians!
